ABOUT ARTWORKS

Place can exert a strong spiritual connection; Charlotte Bronte understood perfectly her sister Emily's need to live at Haworth.

“Flowers brighter than the rose bloomed in the blackest of the heath for her; - out of a sullen hollow in a livid hillside her mind would make an eden”

Why I paint.

I have lived abroad for many years and have come to understand how powerful the sense of disconnection can be.

My paintings provide my sense of connection, my style is informed by past experiences; from the intangible spiritual links to ancient cultures, artefacts or place.

The invisible threads drawing me to a place or object informs my aspiration to interpret this connection in physical art form.
