A highly detailed painting of tiredness, rest, slowness, sunset, an ultimate evokcation of the passing of time. The painting has a dreamlike quality of peace, from the gentle curl of the clouds in the distant sky to the gaze of the mountain on the left which itself forms the body of a giant snail. Like many of my paintings, this work has theme which expresses the whole and is repeating, and the theme here is a snail, both the soft body and its spiral shell; whirls in whirls that curl towards a distant sun.
