Sarah Morley
Back to artistsSarah Morley was born and raised in Herefordshire, United Kingdom where she developed a fascination with drawing and painting from early childhood. She studied Fine Art at The University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, but then changed courses to become a lawyer and she had a career as such for 25 years working in England and Hong Kong. The urge to paint and draw never left her, and aged 50 Sarah returned to her first love. She has been painting professionally and working as a tutor in both oils and mixed media for 9 years. Sarah loves creating new work, resolving the challenges along the way and when enjoys seeing her students find their own creative voice.
Sarah's very original art works vary from landscape to semi-abstract landscape to totally abstract form. She is fascinated by both land and water and by both energy and calm. She is inspired by observation and memories of the world around her. Light, colour and texture are very important. Water and reflections are a recurring theme. She draws using charcoal and mixed media to experiment and paints textured oil paintings, applying layers of paint and sometimes collage is also used.
Purchasing any of Sarah's beautiful paintings is a very joyful experience and a gift to cherish. It is not possible to do justice to the vibrancy of colour and the tactile texture simply from a photograph.
Sarah has exhibited widely in the North West of England, in London at The Candid Galleries, Angel, Islington and as part of the FLUX Exhibition 2019 at National Army Museum, Chelsea.
