"Viktoriya"

£10641

Dimensions: 100 cm L x 50 cm H x 30 cm D

Medium: Bronze with brass circle, granite base

Original Artwork. Limited edition of 12, weight 73 Kg. Meaning Victory in Latin, the contemporary performance artist Viktoria Modesta inspired this Russian/Bulgarian/Ukrainian spelling. Due to a doctor's negligence at birth, she lost the use of her lower left leg, which she had amputated in 2007 to improve her mobility and health. Modesta creatively uses her disability to advantage in her career as a performance artist and singer, symbolizing a physicality that challenges our perception of beauty and ability. Teresa captivates the essence of her spirit to endure, survive and reach one’s potential.
