Description

A story from Greek mythology.

Zeus in the shape of a bull has kidnapped the princess Europa.

I wanted to express the fearful moment  where Europa realizes she is kidnapped.

She has to hold on for dear life as the bull plunges in the waves.

I worked on the painting in several retakes/ hours.

In general I chose to work in oils , because it is a versatile medium.

It stays “wet” for quite some time and it can be applied in many ways.

It is not easy to master, but then there it gives the possibility to “struggle” and discover

all the many ways in which an image can find a shape.
