Kirsten ToddBack to artists
I have painted all my life and always had a brush in my hand as a child. I always knew I wanted a career in Art and my Uncle, an artist himself, was my inspiration and mentor. I would love to draw in his studio while he was working.
Graduating from Art College, I have a background in Graphic Design and Illustration, working for many years in design agencies and also with direct clients.
Painting is, and always has been, my passion and purpose. This last year I have concentrated fully on my passion for painting, I have made good progress with my profile as a professional artist with commissions, selection and exhibiting at the Mall Galleries London, along with exhibiting at the Milnthorpe Open Art exhibition, Calderdale Open Art exhibition, Parallax Art fair and Chester Art Fair.
I work mainly in acrylics and specialise in portraits and abstract art. I love vibrant colour and try to capture, the strength, energy and emotion within a piece, hoping the recipient receives from it the energy they are drawn to or need.
