ABOUT ARTWORKS

Printmaker, freelance. My artworks since 1992 have been exhibited in many Italian cities and abroad and
acquired from public and private collections in: Sofia, Madrid, Chamalieres, Porto, Douro, Bitola, Tarragona,
Valencia, Bucharest, Paris, Cologne, Nassau, Bonn, Diez, Weissenthurm, Kobern-Gondorf, Hunibach,
Providencia-Santiago de Chile, Guanlan-Shenzen. Soon I will also exhibit in Barcelona, New York, Buenos Aires
and Tokyo.

Invited artist, on World of Art Magazine dedicated to the Guggenheim, published by Petru Rusu, at the end
of 2020.

From 1996 to mid-2008 my artworks have been mainly abstract. While from the end of 2008 I let the figures
hidden among the sign textures emerge autonomously, becoming real portraits, where I paid particular
attention to subjects that gave me strong sensations.
From 2017 to today my artworks have lightened giving space to more beautiful and enigmatic faces and
sometimes natural elements such as trees and leaves appear next to portraits. Since the end of 2016 I have
also been interested in drawing landscapes using the drypoint technique.
I create and print by hand artworks from small to large size, on cotton paper, in limited edition.
I grew up in Piovene Rocchette, a small town in the province of Vicenza in Italy, known for the Rossi wool
mill, in a family where artistic stimuli were not lacking. At the age of 11, during a vacation in Florence, I was
enchanted by Michelangelo's David and I realized that art would always be part of my life. In my artistic
training I was particularly influenced by Renaissance drawing and Expressionism and, when at 21, in the 3rd
year of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, I met engraving and printing, I fell in love with it and I understood
that it would be my path, my job.

So even if I continue to paint, the engraving on zinc and methacrylate and the subsequent printing on paper
have become my life. At the age of 25, after finishing the Academy of Fine Arts and dedicating my thesis to
engraving techniques, I specialized in engraving and printing at the Foundation, Gallery and International
School "Il Bisonte" in Florence, under the guidance by Rodolfo Ceccotti, where I was able to work with many
artists from all over the world and where I received a scholarship in the second year of the course.
Since 1996 I have engraved and printed by hand, in my studio, over 300 matrices of wood, linoleum, copper,
zinc and methacrylate. I prefer traditional techniques, such as: etching, drypoint, free etching and soft
varnish, although I have experimented with many techniques, including those of H. Goetz, during a short
specialization at the Open Atelier in Venice in 1999.

Since 2008 I have been collaborating with the collector Antonio L. Rossetto and I have been part of the
foundation, in 2013, of the National Association of Contemporary Engravers which he founded, which
exhibits the artworks of its members, professional engravers, all over the world.
I'm also a member of the Gallery and Cultural Association Mega Art of Corchiano (VT).
I was also a member until the closure of the Venetian Engravers Association directed by the historian Giorgio
Trentin and of the Cultural Association and Gallery "Il Quadrato" of Chieri (TO) directed by Anna Virgilio
Rosso.
