One of a series of paintings entitled “Rise of the Divine Feminine” Celebrating the rise of Divine Feminine energy within us to bring balance to our inner world which in turn brings balance to our outer world. As within so without. This series celebrates the strength and beauty within, strong women, celebrating individuality and cultural diversity and seeing beauty in all things. This powerful woman is from the Surma tribe in the Omo Valley of Ethiopia. They express themselves by painting their faces with natural pigments and adorn their hair with flowers and items found in nature. They also practice scarification and some of the older women have large lip plates, a custom that is no longer practised by the younger women.
